Conducted social accountability through the youth led SAM team in Arusha MC and Monduli DC. As part of social accountability, 16 youth clubs have been established in both private and public schools in the mentioned localities

Mobilized communities whilst emphasizing rights and equal access to quality reproductive health services regardless of gender or age.

Through the beyond bias project supported the engagement of communities in systematic processes to hold health facilities accountable for provision of high quality and rights based contraceptive services. With such a process thus ensuring there’s availability of family planning services at the facility level to the undermined population at the time of need.

The GFF – CSO Coordinating group for RMNCAH whose secretariat is Health Promotion Tanzania, has been engaging in advocacy for RMNCAH in the country including Family Planning services for women of reproductive age. The coordinating group advocates for better RMNCAH financing in the nine low performing regions of RMNCAH in the country. As part of the advocacy, Health Promotion Tanzania on behalf of the coordinating group issued a statement to the Minister of Health Hon. Dr. Ummy Mwalimu ahead of the World Health Assembly (WHA).

Partnered with Advanced Family Planning from John Hopkins University on advocacy for family planning budget. Health Promotion Tanzania advocated for better family planning procurement structures as well as increase in Family Planning budget which as of now, the country has witnessed a rise in Family Planning allocation up to 22 billion Tanzania.

Disbursements have been too low over years, for instance, in the fiscal year 2016/17 when the GoT allocated 14 billion Tanzania Shillings, only 2 billion out of it was disbursed.

The Government of Tanzania (GoT) has allocated 22.5 billion Tanzanian Shillings for Family Planning in the fiscal year 2017/18. This serves as such a promising trend towards achieving and realizing the FP2020 commitments on financing element.

Contributed into the financing of family planning by either direct health facility financing, health sector basket fund or through different projects and interventions being implemented in several regions of the country.
