The Embassy of Canada in Indonesia Skilled quality of skilled birth attendance Government of Canada together with UNFPA Indonesia, Government of Indonesia, and UNICEF work to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and young people in Indonesia through a joint programme aimed at increasing the quality of skilled birth attendance (SBA) and thereby decreasing maternal mortality
JHPIEGO Capacity building of health providers In the district level, under MyChoice program, JHPIEGO has trained in total 252 service providers from 91 health facilities in 16 pilot districts/cities for the implementation of post-partum FP services in the past year. JHPIEGO also established 10 new training centers for Provincial Level and 23 new training centers for Regency / District level to support the implementation of post-partum FP services. JHPIEGO also implemented tiered/level training system at the district level in MyChoice coverage region. Collaborated with FP district , district health office, and several provincial level training centers, JHPIEGO conduct Training of trainer (ToT) in district level for selected health facilities in 23 districts.
Yayasan Kusuma Buana Advocacy efforts for workplaces Supported by FP2020 RRM, during 2018-2019 Yayasan Kusuma Buana (YKB) conducted a series of advocacy efforts for workplaces in Subang district to be able to provide family planning services for their employees in their private clinics. Encouraging the collaboration efforts among company clinics, primary healthcare facilities, district health office, district FP office, resulted in a follow up plan to conduct FP services in the companies. Alongside the advocacy process, YKB also held refreshment FP training for the midwives/doctors stationed in the company clinics and reproductive health seminar/workshop for employees. In total, there were 5 companies who were actively involved in the project and signed the commitment to support family planning services
DKT Indonesia Capacity building of health providers During 2015-2017, DKT Indonesia regularly conducts CTU training for private midwives with legal certification from JNPK (Clinical Reproductive Health Training Network), which in 2017, a total of 1,100 midwives in 9 cities were received the CTU training. During the same year, a training of trainer (ToT) for post-partum IUD inserter was held in 5 provinces which resulted a total of 150 trainers of private midwives. In 2018, adapted from post-partum FP services training by JHPIEGO, DKT Indonesia conducted training related to CTU training, midwives update/refreshment, and post-partum IUD with total of trained private midwives were 408.
