The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. It has a broad reach which focuses on providing poor and marginalized populations with family planning, safe abortion care, maternal and child health care, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) including HIV and AIDS and associated opportunistic infections.

Comprehensive life skills education integrated into curricula and pilot implemntation started Implementing CSE as an extracurricular intervention FGAE has been implementing CSE as an extracurricular intervention using in and out of school settings and developed a contextualized CSE guides for teachers and learners in two local languages. More than 158,000 young people completed the CSE sessions. FGAE also closely works with Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), local leaders and gatekeepers to address the Sexual and Reproductive Health barriers.
