Omega Foundation history goes back to I humble beginnings as village based self-help group in 1997 initially working in Nyando District and later spread to Kisumu and Siaya Districts. It was registered as an NGO in 2002 (Reg.#OP.218/051/2002/036/2216) and expanded its work a few year later to cover 11 counties in Western Kenya including; Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Homa-Bay, Busia, Bungoma, Nandi, Uasin-Gishu, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Bomet. Omega’s program areas include; OVC support, HIV interventions, Reproductive Health, Capacity Development and livelihood development. Our 30 fulltime staff, and over 120 community based volunteers with 40 staff at affiliate levels, Omega has reached over 1.5 million people reached with HIV prevention and treatment services and messages in 6 years; Provided services to over 250,000 women of reproductive Age and adolescents with SRH information and services and more than 70,000 OVC reached with various services including Education, Life Skills, PSS among other services in the same period.
